When i press the brakes on the car and release the pedal, the brakes stay on, the fault is intermitent, when the brakes are seized on i can slam on realy hard and the brakes free off, then when i just tap the brake as if say a car was in front of me, just for normal braking, it will brake as usual but then stick on.I have changed the master cylinder and replaced the T-piece on the vaccume setup. Please help. Dan ________________________________________ Dimma + Gt35 turbo =Solid rear beam mounts £130 07889376885 Dan |

If the calipers are sliding free, it will probably be the front flexi hoses. They split inside and the little flaps of rubber restict the return flow of the fluid. I had it on the 205 (took me ages to work it out!!)Nick ________________________________________ AKA nick on 205gtidrivers.com |

Is the brake system standard? If so that is a strange problem as the fronts are independent.Might be worth changing the pipes for peace of mind. Have you checked the servo and the pedal mech? |

How would i go about this, or is it easier to just replace the whole servo unit ________________________________________ Dimma + Gt35 turbo =Solid rear beam mounts £130 07889376885 Dan |

Unbolt the mastercylinder and either use some plasti-gauge to check the clearance, or measure it with a vernier against a straight edge to work out the clearance. The rod is adjustable to alter it. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Not had chance to look at the servo rod, mainly because i dont understand how it could have just randomly stopped working, so i decided to swop the abs pump over, fit some new braided hoses on the front and replace one of the brakes lines to the m/c that i couldnt get off.The pedal feels alot different and i noticed the brakes wernt sticking on, but... after driving the car for some time and getting it warm they started to stick again, but not as bas as before. I also noticed, when i stop and leave the car running, to get up to temp, both water and oil the brakes stuck on then, gave the pedal a quick press, and they would work as normal. Still baffled as to what it could be, why would it be the servo rod, it must have worked all these years, surely the rod has to be adjusted for it to alter how it affects the brakes. ________________________________________ Dimma + Gt35 turbo =Solid rear beam mounts £130 07889376885 Dan |

Just been down to see my mate at mot station, had car on the brake tester, car was nice n warm, upto temp, used the brakes loads of times on a good drive, front drivers side is sticking, so had a quick peak at the caliper and it seems the metal bits that the pad sits on has corroded and covered in shit, a common problem with the brembo calipers i do believe, so shall take them apart over the next few days and give them a good clean, hopefully will solve the problem ________________________________________ Dimma + Gt35 turbo =Solid rear beam mounts £130 07889376885 Dan |

Servo rod could easily cause it because it should be adjusted for the tolerance on the new master cylinder...________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments.
