No good for roll cage tubing unless you fill it with water and cap the ends first, and then they're liable not to have enough oomph to bend it properly.
A sliding die-type will do it with a little distortion, but you're better off with a rotating-die, roller-type or mandrel bender.

fitted and tested the decat tonight
it does make quite a difference to the noise Big grin

altho bad news is the drivers side bottom arm is worn where the P bush fits
and the drivers side inner cv boot is in two halves Sad

im sure things can only get better tho Smile

also phillipm i think i may be sorted with the bending of the tube now ive just got to take a piece of tube over to doncaster so he can do a test bend
if he cant i'll be in touch Smile

You can also use fine sand if your worried your welds won't be watertight. Big grin

Yeah, but waters more fun, the welding heats it up and pressurises the tube, bingo perfect bend.
Takes a lot more oomph to bend 'em though.

p bushes now replaced so the bottom arms are going on first thing tomorrow so i can move the car to a garage with a 2 post lift woohoo !!!!!!! Big grin Big grin

just dropped the tube off in rotherham for a test bend
good job i checked or i would have still been in doncaster looking for this chaps workshop Big grin Big grin

another small update
P-bushes done
and its going on the 2 post lift tomorrow for a re-fit of the exhaust
new driveshaft boot
cambelt and water pump (when i find the thread about which cambelt kit to order)
and some rear pads

maybe the seat mounts will get altered if time allows
ill take my camera too
