well i have just had the unfortunate task of getting the gear box off to see what the f*ck happened to my clutch and as you can see its had it!

Its the original Valeo item and has done just under 70,000 miles

Im going to be replacing it with a Saches kit which is made in Germany, instead of the shit the french have come out with, as i understand there seems to be quite a few problems at the minute with the Valeo ones, belived to be a batch problem! well not unless they were all made 10 years ago!

even if they were, that didn't stop you from replacing the balljoints on their own, 4.5" angle grinder FTW!

yeah i know tried that first and fecked it, lol. but your prob right as the new one i bought was screwed on. problem is i gotta do the other side now so might aswel just buy a new one straight away rather than wasting time trying to angle grind them off.

I know it's an old (ish) thread but for reference that's not the factory fitted clutch No

The factory ones had one very long pair of springs and one short pair.

Thats odd, i have a fairly large amount of service history and cant see a bill to say its been changed, but it has had a few owners

Plywood clutch ftw LOL

As for reaplacing the balljoint on the riveted wishbone - just drill the rivets out?

They are, but the ones from the factory fitted friction plate are about twice as long as those.
