Now I've stripped the Rallye it doesnt really seem right to put the boring old clocks back in, has anyone on here gone for a digi dash? Whats involved? And what unit gives the best value for money?

The race technology ones are nice, my mate has one. You need to be fairly good at wiring to fit them but its not that difficult. Some you can connect directly to the ecu so you don't need to have 2 of all the engine sensors.

You can do that with the DTA - CANBUS straight to the ECU so it's only a couple of wires.

It's basically just a little computer monitor plus some shift/warning lights, so you can set whatever background/gauges/screens you want, not cheap though.

I'm on an aftermarket ECU, will that make a difference?

I've got one of these, and also the DL1 data logger.

It's a doddle to wire up, you just need to use resistors inline to pull up to 5v if you only have 1 wire sensors. On a 6 this won't be that bad as nearly all sensors are 2 wires anyway.

I wouldn't use the CANBUS interface though for real time display, as only so much information can go over it so could have a delay, it's definitly worth while for data logging though.

I know nothing about these things so shoot me down at will; but could a bike dash be made to fit as a cheap alternative as plenty of bikes have digital dashes Dunno

Smaller, lighter, and the important ionformation you need as a driver is right there in front of you. Plus alarms/warnings can be built in for pre-specified fault conditions; over temp, low oil pressure etc. that you may not see in time with just a guage.

I suppose anything is possible, it's just figuring out what and where everything goes, you would be on your own trying to figure it out though with no technical support from a manufacturer.
