Peel it off, then use a blade with some soapy water to get the sticky residue off.

Would a small amount of heat work to help keep the glue on the tint rather than on the glass? Worth trying, but don't get it too hot.

I used a scouring pad from the kitchen with a bit of warm water

Got rid of the glue, cleaned the glass and didn't leave a single scratch Smile

Could you at least try to post in the right section, and try using the search before starting new threads. All the information you want already exists and it'll elicit a much more positive response from the rest of the members on here if you put a little more effort into researching yourself before asking daft questions.

Bit of a thread revival but found this thread on the search.

I'm fed up of the tints on my rear windows now and want to remove them. Whats the best method then? Hair dryer to get the film off and then use white spirit and a scouring pad?

I've got a steam cleaner could give that a try. I didnt put them on so not sure how long they've been on for.

i've used a hot air paint stripper on a LOW heat, and i was lucky that not much glue residue was left over

i'd be very, very careful if your doing it outside at this time of year Wink

As Jord said I used a hot air gun to remove a vinyl sunstrip with great success, but at this time of year you could easily just end up shattering the windows, so go easy.

You trying to imply I have a slapdash approach to these things? Normally I'd say yes, petrol and match. But have you seen the price of petrol these days?!

My son scratched mine so had to take them off. Left tons of glue. Lots of blue paper and thinners got it off easy.

Well spent the afternoon removing the tints with a rubbish handheld steam cleaner. They came off really easily leaving only a few bits of glue. I just steamed these bits and then rubbed them off with a kitchen scourer sponge. I think its a really low heat steamer as its handheld so didnt have to worry about cracking the glass and its not really that cold. Would definately recommend a steamer to remove tints.
