Wheel to caliper clearance I have measured very accuratly, with a highly specalised piece of equipment; there is about a nats cock of a gap!In all seriousness, I think I could go down to 14mm and get away with it, but id rather have the extra few mm to play with, gives more room for other wheels then too. And as I say above, I could go another 4mm back onto the balljoint yet too im sure. ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

russian guy wrote: Chris, that is looking very good! The other options is to fit 16mm spacer for the wheel itself. That was my initial thinking, but these TD's have already got 20mm spacers on, so I would need to get 36mm spacers made up really for them, or, as you say, get a set of 16mm spacers and double up on the spacers for the TD's but that way the spacers can be used with other wheels. I just dont like the idea of running 2 sets of spacers tbh, plus I would need some longer bolts too. I think spacing the brakes off is, imo, a better job. But I am open to suggestions as the same time, and 16mm spacers would be easier to sort out before Germany then new bells.... ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

Glad to see it's working out now. Nothings ever easy is it?! Don't run two sets of spacers whatever you do, one big one with studs and nuts (not long bolts). Best make sure you've got arch clearance to move the wheel out that far too. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Glad it looks like you are going to be able to do it Chris I wonder what the difference is between the CP3307 calipers and the CP5200? I might see if i can find out Bet they will be awesome on track Dennis - How long would you say a set of Brembo 406 coupe discs last when using CL pads? ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

Im not too sure what differences there are between the 2 calipers tbh Tom, both run the same size pistons (41.3mm and 38.1mm) both use the same pad, both are 2 piece item.I think the CP5200 can run up to a 32mm thick disk, and the CP3307 can only go up to a 28mm thick disk. 5200 are radial mount, 3307 are lug mount. Ahh, Denis beat me to it while I was typing ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

at brake dust, i remember when you came to my garage for some work and your wheels looked like they had been on fire, after endless amounts of wheel acid they almost looked as they should, it was well baked on dust that.Could have died from the fumes of brake dust and acid wheel cleaner. Cheers Dennis and Chris I am running Pagid RS2 Blues on mine for the road at the mo and they are really good I have some part used CL jobbies in the loft that came with the calipers but would only ever use them on a track day as suggested. Just get the feeling they would eat my brembo discs alive within seconds, sounds like they wouldnt do my white wheels much of a favour either ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

Had a busy few days, hence the lack of update on this, but as Denis reports, there were some very interesting findings indeed Basically, the Team Dynamics Pro Race 2 and Compomotive CXR wheels both fit over the brakes that we mocked up onto a spare hub without the need to space them back at all. The Pro Race 2 had the better clearance, but there was still a reasonable amount with the CXR's My only problem now is getting hold of a set of PR2s; they are now a discontinued wheel with the Pro Race 3 as the replacement and Rimstock cant give me any dimensions of the wheel (they infact insist that the 1.2 has better clearance then the 2, even though the 1.2 doesn't clear my 310mm setup :<< CXR's are a lovely wheel, but compomotive want ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

There are some brand new PR2s on eBay I was told the same by Team Dynamics: that PR2s have less space compared to 1.2 ________________________________________ Cherry Red Rallye Project threadWhiteBMW M140i |

Cheers Denis, i had already found those and sent the seller a message asking for a price without tyres and to make sure they are the correct offset and not et38 with spacers or something.________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

Well, thanks to Pete getting the bells made up for me, my brakes now fit under 15" wheels 310mm rotors, AP racing CP 3307 calipers under 15" Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 As you can see, its a snug fit though! And without wheel: ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

Epic thread bumpage. Which rotors do you use and where do you source them from Chris? I would have PM'd but your inbox was full. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |
