The plan originally was to keep the car stock and stick gti6 brakes and engine into it.
Things have changed a little now and I've aquired an OMP 10 point cage and a 206 gti180 engine and box.
The car is still giong to look standard inside and out, with the exception of the cage (going to paint it steel grey to match the body colour of the car - dont want it to really stand out) and all of the seats etc will be kept, even if the rears will be un-usable (may be able to get the baby seat in!.
Externally, I've already fitted the 309 rear axle and wishbones, as well as the slightly thicker 309 ARB to take the extra engine weight. Gti6 calipers are also fitted.
I'd already aquired a couple of 6 engines, but last week was offered a 206 gti180 for a stupidly low price. I know this conversion has already been done, but its not as common as the 6 swap and the VVT and noise of this engine, along with 180+ bhp standard, makes it a no brainer - plus ive managed to cover the purchase cost of the donor car without selling anything engine wise (so kinda got a free engine )
Donor car:
The engines only covered 44k and is still very clean. I'll add more pics when I get chance.
If anyone has already done this conversion, or knows someone that has, Please let me know as I'm gonna really struggle with the wiring
Cheers guys, More to follow.
