Robin is on holiday at the minute think it is booked in for next tuesday.

He done a 1000 miles in it to run it in before he went away in just over a day

good thing i rea this. for some reason you described inserting the oil spray bars and had me thinking back when i built mine as to wether i put any in or not... turns out i didnt lol
so technically you saved my engine *bows* sled god

I don't know what RA values pug recommend for it's MLS gasket but if it resembles ford ,it's got to be in the 8-40 range ,while the specified factory surface finish is 8 to 12 microinches RA.
using PCD tooling you can get OEM finish and even better, with slow feed rate 5RA is achievable, i Suppose there is some workshop in the UK with PCD tooling.
