they're both the same method LOL

one small detial is incorrwect in the first, the seal clearance should be o.o5mm not .5mm.

I would highly reccomend you get hold of Matt Evans (M@tt) or Chris penrose (309pug) for a dummy damper to set the height, and Tom Fenton for a Custom made torsion bar puller.

Also worth noting, the stock damper bolt measurement is 330mm on the 20 mm gti torsion bars.

in most cases at laest one of the torsion bars will be seized into the arm.. i have found the nly way to shift the bar is to remove the whole arm and prs the bar out, usually a seized bar will come free at about 0.8 tonne force. If you want to lower 30 mm the best way is to leave the torsion bar in the arm, tap arm outwards to free the inner spline and the just adjust it one spline, this also measn you will have the height bang on the same both sides.

doesnt matter which way you turn them, just turn them till you find the one that slides in nicely.

If you're going to do it that way then get a copper hammer and smack the trailing arm until it does!

usually the bar will seize in arm not the inner end. You need to lower on the same set of splines as they are different sizes in the arm and in the other end, ie lower both arms on the inner spline or both arms on the arm spline.
If they are seized i use a porta power to push the arm off. Hitting the arm with a hammer will require some very hard hitting and can knacker the arm. Porta power can give me 10 tonnes of force and no damage whatsoever
