No progress upto date, was raining all day yesterday, so only managed to have a once over the engine, it has a missfire, which i think is a coilpack, so one has been bought and in the post to me as we type

Will be going out to take the front end off later

check that its not just water around the top of the plug.

easy way to see which cylinder is is is to unplug each injector in turn till you find the one that doesn't make any difference (or less difference)

then swap the coil from that cylinder to another one and try again, see if the fault moves, mark each Coil with tippex mind, easy to get confused!

I pulld the the coils off one by one and the 2nd to cambelt didnt do anything, so i can assume its the coil, new one was only a tenna, i checked the plugs before hand, all seemed fine apart from the last one, which was a little rusty, so i swopd that one for a spare that was fine in the old N/A engine

I'll see what happens when i get the new coil Smile

This was at 4pm

The this is what it looked like and hour later Smile

If i want to fit new wheels in pug fitment, i have to space the axle out at the back, just like martinj did on his red maxi, at

-38! Jesus christ! With the track widened as is I can see why you wouldn't really want to use a spacer on the front!
Seeing as you're going to want 8 inch wide in 4x108, I'd assume 3 piece splits would be the way forward in either case though?

this is going to be a super project, good find Birk Thumbs up
(yes, I know I'm late to pick up on it and have only just read it so Flip)

but yeah I agree with Andy that the wider track makes no need for any spacers Erm? I can just imagine what that'd look like. I wonder what the widest track you could go to would be?? Hmm

but I will (like everyone else so far) be keeping an eye on this as the Dimma/Maxi 306's are amongst my favourite of all time rare cars that are just hurtin' for a squirtin' Yes

Well i strippd the interior out to make a start on the cage and dash removal today

The cage seems to be welded in on the back wheel arch's and has some sort of box sections on the floor in the front, is this supose to be like this ? i unbolted all the other bolts on the cage apart from the back ones, the cage just didnt seem to budge, so not sure where to go from this...
