Hi,

I just created a PDF version of the cambelt DIY from the FAQ section of the forum. I added a few little bits and parts diagrames from service box.

I did it quickly just to make for easier printing and thought others may like it too.

DOWNLOAD HERE

Good work, although there is one confusing/inaccurate statement about pinning before taking the belt off:

quote:
If you pin the cams and the bottom pulley does not line up, then remove the bottom pulley and
throw it in the bin at once, DO NOT attempt to turn the engine over. Will bend valves

The engine will turn over just fine with a slipped pulley otherwise the engine wouldn't run Smile

lol .... really I dont know much about engines full stop. Please tell me how to word it or anything that should be added and I will make the changes.

I have goten heaps from the forum in my short time here, but really nothing much to share due to my little knowledge, therefore I felt I could contribute to the forum in other ways Smile

Original Author is LRV8, but I added some little bits. I added will bend valves. I'll take off the last bit, the rest of the statement must be right?

I would think something like this is more accurate:

WARNING: The bonded crankshaft pulley timing hole can 'slip' out of place in time with wear. Make sure BEFORE you take the belt off that the cam pulleys and crank pulley holes line up. If the crank pulley timing hole does not line up then get a new pulley to time up with.

(You don't strictly need to use the pulley to time up if you know the correct woodruff key location but its the safest way)

Between 300 and 450 for a reputable garage.

Get the Kit that matches your build number. I have spoken with the original author of the FAQ thread regarding cambelt confussion, and who recommended using the 137 kit on all makes no matter which build, he told me that since then he has done lots of testing with different set ups and now does not think its a good idea. So use the one that matches.

In the download I have included original part numbers for both.
