around a year ago i saved a poor 205 which had been sat in a field for a number of years, after putting a good running 1.9 8v in aswell as full magnex, solid engine mounts, fully samco'd,avo coilovers and a rebuild rear beam , and virtually everything else in between, ive decided to take the plunge and look into doing the gti6 engine conversion as i managed to come across one from a friend with around 80k at a decent price. Here are a few pics of the car which will recieve the treatment, please forgive the laryness etc of the car, im to young at the moment being only 20 to stick 100% standard so i do play with colors etc, |

Now i went upto day to see the engine, and decided to bring part of the loom home to begin getting to grips with it all.The large peice of loom and what im guessing is the power sorce for the gti6 loom, guessing this goes from the battery to the starter, then onto the rest of the loom and then these two plugs, which i believe are going to be the ones which are chopped and the rest of the 205 loom mates into. Now i will look into this lot more when i get chance, but if anybody wishes to enlighten me on what i have photographed there, both more my benefit and for other whom may wish to use this project for information should they wish to perform this transplant. Anyway that is the start to the project, please do enjo |

ok , somthing a little strange, my loom seems to be nothing like anybody elses, hmm here are photos of mine, everybody else that has photographed there looms appear to be in one piece. full loom strange block, which i am told bolts to the bulk head, where the 2nd half which contains the interior loom also bolts onto lots of color full connectors bundled together now the strange bit, i have 1x 19 pin plug, and 2x8 pin multiplugs which are situatated all right next to the double relay plug |

Hello mate, dude on FTOOC PM'd me on the FTO club forum saying that you were going to do this.I have a 205 (originall a 1.9 8v) that I've had for about 7 years now. This year it got a GTi6 powerplant. You'll love the power of it and it makes the car like a road going go-kart. I also opted for the larger brakes from the 306 GTi6 as well and the stopping power is immense. Mine is also lowered using 306 GTi6 suspension and a set of lowering springs. Have fun converting it ! p.s. I can't give you advice on how to convert it as I paid someone else to do it - my mechanic skills are noobish at best. But if you need any photos or anything looked at on mine then let me know. ________________________________________ When I got home last night, my G/F demanded that I take her somewhere expensive - so, I took her to a petrol station.1993 L reg 205 with GTi6 engine and GTi6 brakes 1995 M reg FTO GPX manual |

ask away with the questions dude, you can cut out the 8pin from the engine loom, (if you not going to use the alarm system pull out the 205 loom and leave just over a metres wire from the 2 brown connectors, so it mates up with the gti6 engine loom ok label the two brown connectors and the gti6 engine loom (the 19pin connector) and then mate them up. you dont need all the wires from the 19pin, and make sure you have a switched live on a grey cable, trace that to pin 14 of the double relay, then it will be fine ________________________________________ Do you need a 205 > 306 gti6 plug and go engine loom? cheers for that spiky mate , ill be throwing u the paypal soon for the rev loom. bow that it is clear i dont really need any of this loom im looking at, and that the only wiring i really need is wrapped around the engine, and its all pretty clear. One thing im not sure on , is whether to sure the other 306 round connecter so that the whole engine is plug and play.update! well today, i grabbed myself one of these as i think its going to be needed. Also got the lamda sensor ill be needing (bosch) as i swear by them. And the great gti6 manifold I also managed to get a speedo drive plastic thingy, with a 3 pin electronic connection, and the facility to take the speedo drive cable. I removed it from a 306 xsi (ma gearbox i believe) however the shafts and cogs were slightly diffrent, but i swapped them straight over, no problems. |

Well Cut of the rotton bumper mounts today (will be ordering new from pug) Then took a good look around at the areas of rust to trackle. This is what i found. After much proding with a screwdriver though it appears none of it was weak/soft so all good. !! |

Yea i attacked the rust with a flap wheel, going to continue working it down and stripping the bay, once its all gone ill etch prime the affected areas, high build the full bay, wet flat it , and then spray it up again nice and white. I would like to have the engine in running with a rebuilt box/clutch etc in the next 6 weeks ish |

onch again work has been on going. the clifford wiring and the old 8v loom removed after i cut off the ecu plug. Further poking at the inner wing and i find a hole cant really see it to well but basically the dark area needs welding up, luckily that should not be a prob from under the arch to get to. then i speant some monnies on all the kit to make my own brake lines, also got a pair of the pipe bending pliers. and 7 bolts later the off comes the whole front subframe Then i turned attention to the engine block and stripped off the inlet etc to see exactly what i was working with and where the oil leak was from. |

Well had my welder james coem to cut out all of the rotton areas in the inner wing and sort them out and get them and seam sealed them all up. Then Gray came over and gave my bay prep some paint. There are a few areas that need a quick look at but all good. What do you think to the colour ?Also i got the brass linkage bush kit from baker bm, and i must say its fits great and has 100% removed play from it, damn good buy. Also got a nylon bush kit for the fork linkage. |
