Hi and i hope that someone will be able help with this problem, last week i turned the control knob to move the air cirulation to the windscreen and noticed that the air was still coming out of the vents and not the screen, since then i have taken the centre of the dash out, checked the cables on the back of the the control panel and all the cable are still connected both ends and move as they should, but still the air only comes out of the vents.

PLEASE HELP

I had this problem so i turned all the front vents to closed and you get more power on the windscreen if that makes sense??

Is this the only way to fix this problem?! Seems I am scuppered with this at the moment too and isn't great when it's frosty in the morning!

If the vents int the car are open they will always blow air ? You have t shut them all off to get a strong windscreen only blow job

I still get nothing when I shut them all off, just makes a lot of windy noises under the dash with nothing coming out the front window vent? Am I being daft or is it kaput?

A pipe may have come off behind the dash

The only one you may have hit is the front vents. Mind you if it's unsealed all the pressure will come out there. I had this problem.

gay.com will have a look tomorrow, cheers. It's highly likely as the Alpine 9887r has a lot of wiring & random boxes hanging out the back of it Smile

I too have this problem and closing the dash vents has no effect at all - you can just hear the air circulating inside the dash. I have recently fitted an Alpine my self with a whole load of gubbins and a stalk adaptor so i guess first stop will be to take it out and check the state of play behind the dash.

The car never gets mega steamy so there is no way that I'll be doing a dash out - it just bugs me.

My problem has nothing to do with the matrix - when you put the blower setting to windsreen mode you just can't feel any air coming out of the vents near the windscreen. I'd assume it is a problem with the cable operator, a dislodged or non sealed pipe or the windcreen vents being stuck shut.

Any ideas let me know. The blower settings work fine and give a powerful blow on both footwell and face mode.
