So

Nah, i bought it like that, 1st one was knackered though lol. Tbh, i cant see why people have problems, it certainly hasnt got worse since ive had it, just poor care by owners me thinks ...

Mab: speedo idea was thought of, but id lose use of the trip computer/more warning lights so it was a no-go Sad

Mines fooked too Sad A lot of the 172s ive seen have been fine a bit of melting but thats all, Ive often wondered if they have changed the materials for the cups and it went onto be used in 182s.

My right hand thumbgrips disintegrated and its all melted too, It happened at 34k and Renault never got back to me on it. The Garage i got mine from won't replace it under warranty either Dry

Cant believe i missed this thread Roll eyes nice to see what other people are doing, What Coilies are you going to be fitting Dave?

Yup, the standard steering wheels are truly pants!! I think your right though, the early 172's dont seem to be as affected, the one ive got on there now is a completely different material to my original one Crazy Mind you, K-Tec do a nice refurb in leather/carbon fibre now ...

Coilover wise, id love some AST's/H&R's, etc, but i really dont see the point in spending that much on suspension for a clio ... would rather sell it and spend the extra grand on running an Evo lol.

There's a groupbuy for FK Highsports on at the moment for

Think i'l probrably end up with some GAZ coilies, I looked at the highsport group buy but they wont fit mine because of the hub spacing. Like yourself i cant see much point spending almost 1k on a suspension setup either.

I think the GAZ gold ones (circa
