I'm not starting this again I got it from Ebay but there have been a couple of incidents and instances where a few fella's from here have followed in my footsteps and have been screwed over by the guy I got it from/paypal/Ebay etc.... so for that reason, I'm not saying ________________________________________ My Myspace / Band Myspace / My FacebookTeam China™ GTi6 always more to come.... pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 pic5 pic6 pic7 pic8 pic9 pic10 ------------------------------- * Quote of the day:- "Grow some balls.. but why balls??? K&N RC-5052 is your part number anyway but please read the careful small print on page 1 of this thread (my diagram etc...) with other parts you will need.. things like silicone reducers, an angled bit of pipe etc... all running in this case is 70mm until it gets to the TB then its 80mm ________________________________________ My Myspace / Band Myspace / My FacebookTeam China™ GTi6 always more to come.... pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 pic5 pic6 pic7 pic8 pic9 pic10 ------------------------------- * Quote of the day:- "Grow some balls.. but why balls??? looks good to me though buddy nice to see another 6 on the forum with the aluminium intake option... I maintain it definitely adds metallic v6-esque rasp to the induction sound how did you find a pipe the right size with such a smooth transition bend? I had to have 3 welded seperate pieces to get it tight and smooth lol it does give a good sound though doesn't it!!!?!?!? ________________________________________ My Myspace / Band Myspace / My FacebookTeam China™ GTi6 always more to come.... pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 pic5 pic6 pic7 pic8 pic9 pic10 ------------------------------- * Quote of the day:- "Grow some balls.. but why balls??? They sell all kinds of pipes and stuff and their prices are pretty reasonable to IMO. This is the pipe I used, the only change I had to make was to take a couple of inches off the end which is attached to the Apollo filter, this moved it further up into the engine bay and as a result meant that the cold air feed was not low enough to be caught on anything. chrissykapow wrote: it does give a good sound though doesn't it!!!?!?!? The sound after 4000rpm is awesome, much better than the open filter I had fitted before. It also pulls a lot harder after 4000rpm, like Welly said about it his setup it feels like your being sucked down the road. |

my set-up is pretty much identical to stu's except i wanted to keep the undertray on so it needs a bit of modifying to accomodate the cold air feed tooalthough induction roar with it off is nuts! ________________________________________ *R.I.P Pete Sims* |

well what if it's dry when you go to sleep, and then it starts raining while you're sleeping? damn british weather... I wish it could just never rain, or only rain occasionally. Not all the time, I wanna strip down the interior this afternoon to put something right I did wrong yesterday but it's peeing it down! 4.bruceymine is pretty much identical to stupugs, i got my piece of aluminium tube from demon tweeks. i also cut an inch or to off to lift the apollo up, now the cold air feed is only a snatch lower than the bottom cover. is it really that good if you take the air feed off, may have to try it tomorrow. ________________________________________ Team Moonstone™Team Apollo™ |

I love the sound of my 57i but I would really like a cold air intake coupled with the slightly forced induction Might do a diy job in the new year when the weather starts getting better.Looks good though mate, nice job. ________________________________________ Black GTi-6 (Phase2.7 and-a-bit R/97) |
