where's that grommet from??

when removing my dash i found a grommet similar in size but one end is thinner, i haven't even looked at the car since but i'm sure it's easy to refit if it's fell out of somewhere when removing the dash Unsure

here's the one i have in my footwell, not tried to find out where it's from yet.. can just see it in the background

does it even need to go back in depending on where it came from??

Yeah its the one that is around the base of the column, seals the steering rod that comes from outside, so its pretty importantShock

Progess update.....

This weekend I had a visit to GKZ_206 as my car needed a few bits of work done to pass the MOT, also I had the MOT done whilst there. It passed the MOT so very happy about that Big grin.

The large gromit (that surrounds the steering shaft) was put back in, thanks Carl.

The drive was quite fun especially when you hit ice with a superchargerNinja

Jobs to be done this week, cut the rear tailgate, remove all wires from both door except for the central locking.

In 3 weeks time car is going for it paint job , Cherry Red outside with Ford Mercury Grey insideBig grin

Progress update...

Last week car finally made its way to my mates bodyshop. The deal was I had to strip the interior and exterior and help him in anyway I could, then he would charge me a cheap price.

I removed all the interior except the dash, all side windows.

I removed the doors, tailgate, bonnet, front and rear bumpers basically I am left with the bare shell.

I then had a go at the rear tailgate glass, I tried to cut with a long sharp blade, then all of a sudden blade when snape and hit me in the face, so I said to my Mrs lets take the tailgate off put it on the floor and smashed it, we removed all the screen bond.

We then tackled the front screen with 2 stanleys and we have just the bottom of the screen left to cut away now on Friday.

Pictures will be uploaded this friday as I forgot the camera.

Recently had to fit a new bonnet relise cable and the grommet looks very similar to the one that seals the hole between the cable and the main shell, not too sure though.

Hope you get some hubcentric spacers... The slip on ones mean that the wheel bolts are supporting the weight of the wheels and whilst it probably wont happen, a wheel coming off is more likely than with hubcentric spacers. Although its probably like saying being outside means its more likely that you'll get hit by a train.

If you've said something about it igore me Ive been speed reading.

Paint it yellow!
