Usually 70-100 quid exchange, plug gearbox oil/seal and an hours labour so 150 sounds about right.

Yep, do it yourself. Shafts are about £80 at the moment. What phase is it?

Its a phase 2, i thought this would have needed a ball joint splitter ?

I used to do them the old fashioned way with a long bar and a rubber mallet

The arms have just been changed so it might free off easily

Yes, you would be best getting one of them for the TRE joint.

The wishbone ball joint can be knocked out with a mallet Yes

You'll also need a 35/36mm socket and a big breaker bar.

Can I Bump on this thread... Can you remember rear-end what the symptoms was?

I have some minor Vibrations but a lot of noise from the front passenger corner. I'd say it is louder than my exhaust at the moment (decat/scorpion cat back) apart from on full Chat. Cheers. Thumbs up

Don't count on him replying; he hasn't logged in for almost 4 years (and he couldn't reply without purchasing membership first...)

Based on your symptoms I'd advise checking the wheel bearings and drive shaft CV joints.

The vibrations could also be caused by the wheels becoming unbalanced, but that wouldn't give any noise other than the vibrations themselves.
