had a scary moment last nite in the rally, drove through a deep puddle unexpectidly and stupidly! having a k&n induction kit it sits quite low behind the bumper as you all probably know! any way she made it through the patch of wetness with a little cough and splutter after lucky or what! just wondered if any one has moved or relocated the air filter to a safer place?________________________________________ franki c |

you can attach it directly to the throttle body which will save you from any puddles but you will notice a lot more heat soak and in the hotter months the car will feel sluggish after being stood for a while in traffic sayalternative to that is get an enclosed induction kit, thats the route im taking ________________________________________ *R.I.P Pete Sims* |

thats a good idea but theres a breather pipe for the air filter and the top hose might be in the way does anyone know if a standard filter might be better or not so close to the ground! lets face it, it rains all the bloody time in this country and the puddles are getting deeper!________________________________________ franki c |

Mines situated directly onto the throttle body mate. The rad hose does flow over, and there probs is heatsoke when your in traffic situations, does it matter if your car feels a little sluggish?? For me, nope ________________________________________ Team Ducati 7482003 Subaru Impreza STi |

Id be tempted now the weather is picking up to mount the filter lower down with a decent cold air feed. |

In actual fact I saw this on my car for the first time today too, possibly ventilation going towards the ECU/battery?________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I believe it is there to vent any battery gasses. I removed mine soon after I got my '6 after fitting an induction kit, I've never had any problems.I believe others on here have done the same too. |
