With the standard pipe? You'd want a male one. I couldn't find one so I used an 18mm female one and stretched it over the top (See here). It was quite a tight fit though. ________________________________________ Rich |

Thread revival but if i buy one of these breather filters for the ICV pipe thats half hanging off the inlet pipe will it cure my 'stalling when dipping clutch' and general feeling that it wants to die everytime i change gear and the revs drop sharply????Did get the pipe glued into the inlet pipe a few weeks ago but its come off again and since felt very unstable whilst doing the above actions.... Basically will it function as normal with one of these filters on the pipe? Principle is the same i guess... ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' will probably be that your ICV needs cleaning, or replaced if you're unlucky.Put a filter on after to help keep it clean or try and get a replacement original pipe ________________________________________ Team 'unintentional rat look' |

Cleaned the ICV. Its just the pipe is half hanging off the inlet pipe. I know its causing the unstability but just want to know if the people who have done this breather filter option have noticed their idle functioning normally after? ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' A split in this pipe won't directly affect the idle as it is before the ICV and the throttle body. It just means there will be a small amount of unfiltered air going into the engine.I have a large split in this pipe on my car at the moment and it still idles perfectly. ________________________________________ Rich |

Generally it does idle fine.Just when i dip the clutch the rev indicator plummets pretty hard and sometimes cuts the engine out. Noticed an improvement when the pipe was sealed. Will this filter work as a normal functioning pipe then or? ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |
