Recently my s16 has become hesitant when i put the throttle down hard. So far i've changed the plugs, fuel filter and the coils and nothing seems to have changed, after having another look at the plugs it would appear that they arent getting enough fuel. Whats also weird is that if i rev the engine gently the it will accelerate right through the rev range without any hassle, its only when full throttle is applied that there is a problem. I've also noticed that my engine diagnostic light has started to come on now, is it possible to read a fault code from this. Any help would be much appreciated!! Or if anyone knows a good pug specialist in the chichester area let me know. cheers Ash

avac diaphrams/solenoids or a lambda issue. might be ECU corrupt sector like mine was but i doubt this is your case as mine ran so incredibly shite

Wouldn't have thought it would be a lambda sensor issue as at full throttle it's supposed to ignore the lambda.

Could be a lazy fuel pump or maybe a vacuum leak is affecting the fuel pressure regulator Dunno.

My lambda is pretty new so hopefully not that, i thought it may be a vacuum leak as i can hear something hissing but couldnt pin point it. On the issue of fuel, i took my rocker cover of today ro replace the seal and when i removed my fuel pipe that goes into the fuel rail no fuel came out when i turned the ignition on, would fuel not come out as the fuel pump should have primed?

vac leak would make it idle badly form experience?? mine had a leak right near the centre of the inlet at that T pipe and it would stall constantly and ECU light was on/off randomly. everything happened at once; lambda/ecu got faulty and airleak from damaged pipeworking putting the engine back in

new diaphrams fixed the flatspot and funny running

My engines favorite place to develope a vacuum/air leak is along the back, the metal pipe that goes from the throttle body to the fuel vapour recicling solenoid. It snaps where it is fixed to the cam cover.

That hisses and makes the car feel sluggish (also makes my car sound like it's got anti-lag on overrun Razz) I got a new pipe from pug only for it to do it again 6 months later so i've used a piece of fuel hose to join the metal pipe to the solenoid, no more leaks (touch wood).

What about the throttle position sensor? That could be on it's way out.

Mine did the fan thing was a split wire a the join down the bottom of the radiator.
I have a fuel rail, injectors, avac solenoid, diaphrams and pipe work all available.
Also a pair of ignition amps, the big brown relay from behind the ecu and a very early ecu.
