Been a while since i could get my hands on one but finally did it.

Sorry about the picture quality. I'm shit LOL
Click for bigger pictures

This is what it starts life as

After drilling the casing off, this is whats inside

4 wires on the bottom VERY fragile

After un screwing the bit that slides in and out this is what your see

Then to split it down again, bottom piece with magnet on the left, top piece on the right

The bottom bit

This is the slider screwed into the magnet. The magnet spins and pulls the slider down by tightening the thread.

The top bit. On this one i notice it was cracked and was restricting the movement in and out of the sliding pin. THATS why this one failed

Crap pictures unfortunately. But you can see that this model has 2 groves to keep it striaght when it moves in and out. Never seen this design before and i reckon it could be the best design.

Full exploded view

Now make your own mind up as to why they fail.
I still would like other models that have failed to see if there is any difference and see how they fail Thumbs up

Like all males Big grin Do you enjoy taking expensive things to pieces?

In pic 11 is that piece ceramic? Is it the engine vibrations that destroy it?

Yup was stopping it was twisting and jamming it's self up. Was caught hard to pull out when it was jammed. Thats why it cracked.
