Spoox

I'm trying to use a formula from Google and a gear ratio calculator but maths and Excel is not my strong point

the gear speeds they've given you are early xsara 4.42 fd with gti6 3-4-5.

From what I can work out using spoox top speed using a 7500 limit on 195 50 the ratios are 2.9 1.83 1.40 1.15 0.95 so using a 3.6 final drive on 195 50 tyres and limit of 7500 will give top speed of 1st 48 2nd 76 3rd 100 4th 122 5th 147????

So using 225 40 18 using there gear set and a 3.6 FD and limit of 8250 I would get
1st 60 mph
2nd 96
3rd 125
4th 153
5th 185

Surely that's not right???

It's the helical gear set they had manufactured for there time attack car which appears to be coping with the 500 odd hp he is running.

I'm just trying to work out if I use that gear set with a 1.9 3.6fd what top speed of would get and what the rpm drop would be into each gear

205 has a 3.69 not 3.6, so with gti6 3-4-5 on that with your big tyres gives.

57 90 118 145 176

sounded like a gti6 3-4th which is what they have used in rally cars for a while, I know one guy that blew his to bits with a bodied gti6 in a 205 rally car.

but if its a different tooth count and tooth profile then hopefully they have addressed the weakness.

We are coming to a deal etc as I'm not going through the whole KAD straight cut s**t again

He has even offered to lend me his box to prove he has no issues....

just make sure you research what they're trying to sell you, a lot of the stuff they have is dealer sourced with an obscene markup, though looks like they have commissioned someone to make some gears up for them.

did anyone ever use those dog gears that were made?
