OK you need another key in the ignition turn it on two clicks then aim the blip key up at the sensor and hold it, it should catch the signal.

Do you have a manual it says how to do it in there, and to be honest I haven't looked at my manual just went by memory have a go then come back if it doesn't work, i'll dig my manual out.

Try taking the blade out and using pliers on it, I'm sure I did this at some point, but check how far the blade goes in so that you can get it out again and or get purchase on it, then aim the blipper at the sensor.

Only kiddin'

Taken directly from manual deffo for IR Ph 2, as that's what mine is.

The doors must be unlocked.

Use key without remote control (or in your case blade and pliers) to turn on the ignition to position A "accessories".

Place the remote control key within 4 inches of the receiver (located close to the interior mirror, for thickos, maybe you lol).

Press button 1 or 2 within 10 seconds of turning the ignition key. Edit you wont have button 2, GTi only.

Turn off ignition.

Test, repeat if necessary.

It will work it took me a few goes from what I remember.

You sure your remote has power, does the little red light come on when you press the button, maybe try new batteries in it, otherwise just keep trying.

Had to reprogram my keys today after batteries died.
Bit of arsing around but I found this works best.

It's more or less the same as what 8valver quoted from the handbook.

First off, no need for pliers and stuff, just seperate the fob so that you have your key blade in one half and your remote button plip in the other Wink

The doors must be unlocked.

Insert key into ignition and turn 1 click so battery light comes on.

Place the remote control within 4 inches of the receiver,
within 10 seconds of turning the ignition key, Press button 1 or 2 (hold for 4-5 seconds, found this worked better).
Turn off ignition.

Test, repeat if necessary.

I had to program both remotes again. To do this is the same as the above exept the second key needs to be programmed within 10 seconds of the first key
To do this...

The doors must be unlocked.

Insert key into ignition and turn 1 click so battery light comes on.

Place the remote control within 4 inches of the receiver,
within 10 seconds of turning the ignition key, Press button 1 or 2 (hold for 4-5 seconds, found this worked better).
Grab second remote (dont need to take this one apart for the blade), then press and hold button 1 or 2 within 10 seconds or programming the first remote.

Turn off ignition.

Test, repeat if necessary.
If all's well, just pop the first remote back together and job done.

This did the trick for me and both remotes working as before Smile
