First up pop the bonnet..


The Stepper motor/Idle control valve is located just next to the throttle body

There are 2 10mm bolts holding it all to the inlet.

Ones top, ones bottom
Carefull not to drop them

Once unbolted there is 2 parts

The stepper its self and the housing

Well, did it resolve the problems?

I can just fit 3 pancakes under the front splitter on my mk2 Golf GTi 16v... with lemon and sugar on them.Cool

cracking vid Paul Thumbs up, can I add that removing the throttle cable gives easier access to the bottom bolt.

they never start well after the stepper motor is cleaned, in fact when i did mine it started, then it revved up to about 4k, then stalled, started it again and it reved to about 3k and then stalled, next time it reved to 2k, dropped to 500 and then settled itself just under 1k. has to adjust itself afterwards Wink
