PAS RAM Replacement ProcedureTools/Parts Required 12mm Spanner (Preferably a proper hydraulic brake type!) 19mm Spanner 19mm Socket + ratchet T55 Torx bit + socket adaptor 1 ltr of Power steering fluid Spare hydraulic pipe set, Peugeot part number 40205A, £14.39 - if required! PAS Ram (for 306 GTi6 XU10J4RS), Euro Car Parts part number 13073516, £81 A couple of plasters for the inevitable cut knuckles Method 1. Raise car on axel stands. 2. Undo the two hydraulic pipes from RAM using 12mm hydraulic pipe spanner. 3. Drain any power steering fluid from hydraulic pipes. 4. Undo T55 Torx bolt from RAM, this is loctited in so plenty of force is required. 5. Undo nut from other end of RAM using the 19mm spanner/19mm socket. 6. Remove RAM and throw in the bin. 7. Carefully position new RAM and loosely connect the Torx bolt and the nut, do not remove the black plastic bag from the RAM, it is there to protect it from dust etc. 8. Reconnect the two hydraulic pipes and tighten up fully. Take great care not to cross-thread the connectors, if connectors become cross-threaded replace hydraulic pipes with new. 9. Fully tighten the Torx bolt and the nut at the other end of the RAM. 10. Top up power steering fluid. 11. Start car (check its outa gear!) and move steering from lock to lock several times. 12. Turn off ignition and check RAM and hydraulic pipes for any leaks. 13. Lower car from axel stands and test drive. 14. Recheck RAM and hydraulic pipes for any leaks and top up power steering fluid if required. 15. Job done ________________________________________ Have you ever noticed?
