Right now pull the whole thing up, Should like this, its a tight pull up but should stay there nicely,

The centre cowling doesnt need to be removed as the bit you want is where the ratchet head isCool

Now the only way to do this is with an extension bar and ratchet placed like so

Now the quickest and easist way i found was:

Click the handbrake up 2 clicks, which should be when the switch is pressed and the light comes on.

Tighten the cable up, it doesnt need to be THAT tight,

To test just move the car forward and back alittle to see if its biting, then slacken off to whats needed

Clapping.

Now stick it all back together...

(Useless fact, I did this in reverse, i did it and thought Doh what a great FAQ)

It's all that simple until it ceases and you need to get to the cable after it's left the underside of the car to the rear wheel as found out when MOT'ing a Rover that had ceased and whole cable needs to be replaced and exhaust needs to be moved ½ a day job really.

Careful not to overadjust this because it seems to pull on wires that run up to the centre console (they're not used on our 3 door cars but if shorted can cause problems!)

Great guide though, found it really helpful!
