cars been cranking slow for a while now. sometimes turning over once and stopping...

wasn't the earths (cleaned and greased 6 months prior). turned out to be the positive terminal, it has two eyelet lugs bolted to it which needed cleaning.

fixed the slow crank mostly, i think i need to get to the starter motor terminals and clean them for max efficiency.

afterwards i tested my sitting current draw....FAQ only says 16ma is normal, 25ma or above is bad

my experience was an initial 3-4 seconds of 7-8amps draw.....going down to 16ma afterwards for 20-30 seconds. then finally dropping to 4ma.....

seems better than FAQ described, or faq is incomplete, is this normal?

fitted a new starter today, took about 2 hours. thing cranks perfect now.

the old starter was dead, its live terminal was loose/wobbly inside the solenoid housing. something broke/melted inside i guess.

all good (for now :s)
