Hey guys,

My 306 Rallye has been sat up for a while waiting for me to get round to fixing it.
Went and started it up last weekend to move it and noticed a petroly odor. Sure enough, leaking out of injector 4.

Looked like it was coming out of the top of the injector/fuel rail.
The fuel rail has a bit of surface rust on it, so not entirely sure if its leaking or if the o ring has perished.

Anyone know how likely it is for that oring to have gone after sitting a couple years or if I'm gonna be looking at replacing the rail?

And side note does anyone have a good fuel rail sitting around?

Cheers

probably just and o-ring. ive noticed "slices" off of the top sealing o-rings in the past on injectors when ive removed the rail/injectors in the past.

no leaks luckily though.

not really sure how/why as where they were seated in the rail was smooth as a babys behind.

it is a bit of a pig to remove and reinstall as the orings are very tight (manifold seal and top seal orings)....as they should be.

remove the rail....inspect for damage to orings, replace where necissary. check for corrotion/rust on o-ring seats in rail.... use super fine emery cloth if rough spots are noticed.

when reassembling be generous with the lube/grease. takes a fair amount of even but wiggly force/pressure to get everything to seat properly again.

i had a load of spare injectors with intact orings on hand, i think they are an awkward size/type that you wont find in a a generic (orings multipack case/kit).

you probably should have some of these orings on hand before removing the rail to inspect as they could fully break when removing.

id also look to replace the two bits of hose that attach to the fuel rail....they are not compatible with newer e10 fuel (10mm id and 8mm id), and wil corode and fire bits of rubber into your fuel.

the crimp connectors on the fuel delivery line (the white plastic adaptors) can leak/weep and need replacing also.

good luck Smile
