under the scuttle tray plastic on the windscreen wiper motor side is a triangle of black painted metal bolted in that braces between the firewall panel to under the windscreen.

my question is....... why isnt there one on the other side?

i know the cabin air supply intake duct is in the way (it uses the same mirrored mounting hole bracket location) , but is there any merit to fabbing and fitting one to that side?

its seems "structural" as in it somewhat braces the front shock tower mounting area a little more....just seems weird if that was its intended purpose....why it isnt replicated on the other side Dunno

probably because there isnt a massive hole in the bulkhead with the pedals and servo dangling in it, and having the forces of a human leaning on he pedals pushing on it.

Phase ones had both triangles, I’ve fitted one to the passenger side of my Rallye. The drivers side is thicker than the passenger side and I think it’s to go with strengthening the scuttle where the wiper motor is.
