when i got this gti6 the driver window mechanism was somewhat "exploded". i replaced it with a new unit.
however the window mecanism nipple thing pops out of the circular rubber bung every now n then (leaving the bung and clip in the glass).

needless to say, i can refit it in under 5 mins now. but id rather figure out why.

the glass is in its rail/clip to the rear and its in the guide bar at the front... bung is new and metal clip seems ok.

any chance something stupid like the 2nd hand unit is from a 5 door 306?

it did work backwards with the window switch when i first fitted the new unit (up=down and vice versa)...so ive swapped the pins in the plug to fix.

window will pop out sometimes when i shut the door and the windows half open, or if the MOT mechanic leans on it .
