much to my annoyance one of the 2 bushes on my driver side brake caliper that carries the slide pin is slightly wallowed out.i replaced all 4 slide pins today and one of them has about 1-2mm play which is coming from the wallowed metal bush in the caliper carrier.  are these replaceable? if so part number please? and where to get one from thanks jim ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

they don't have bushes, so if the bore is worn out you need a new carrier, or have it bored out and fit a bush.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

well.....2 second hand calipers from ebay later, both with over 0.5mm play in them in the same holes as mine weird as the carriers are side interchangable but the piston parts are left and right side. you would think both holes might slog out evenly on each carrier but no....or the two carriers would wear out "symetrically" between left and right but the same hole is fine on each and the same hole is buggered on each. is this a common thing? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

ive asked my machinist friend what could be done.said carrier walls are kinda thin to be boring it out to fit a sleeve. said best bet would be to find an oversized/fatter slide-pin, machining the bad carrier hole out the minimal amount possible to get it round again and then lathing down the oversized pin to match. any ideas where i can find a similar pin but its bigger/fatter? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

6 carriers in now..... the play is by design FFS.0.1mm in one pin and 0.5mm in the other.... (also check for roundness/ovaling) use a dial indicator for measuring play and the verneir caliper for measuring roundness. this is now the only post on this forum (or any other) that mentions this..... so any poor c^%t who comes across this play in the future, ignore that part of the piggy power youtube video. all the grease does is quieten/dampen, the factory spec play will still remain. ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |
