Hi, so I brought my GTi-6 in 2009 the week in between Christmas and new year in 2009. I come across a unseen big puddle in the dark and hydro locking it bending a conrod. It was rebuild and the head got smashed up in 2010 another head got at the time but life happened got left.

2019 engine rebuild and non starter fuel pump not priming no power at pump. Fuel relay replaced power to the pump still not priming so pump replaced for pump from peugeot. Pump priming, has spark still non starter.

Over the last year things been cylinder compression tests all good. I have two ECU's one eBay brought as unlocked still not starting. Send the cars original ECU to get unlocking as started to question it the one I bought was unlocked. It has a new crank sensor.

Using easy start being spray in the inlet manifold it sounded for a second it nearly started before the fire blow back out of the inlet manifold.

Neither ECU's can be cannot be read by a snap-on zues diagnostic machine.

Does anyone know if a snap-on zues diagnostic machine can read GTi-6 ECU's?

Any ideas welcome on want to look at or try doing. Thinking checking wiring. I know the indicators are working in any way relay changed and hazard switch too.

Thanks for help

Andrew

pre 2002 ecu's are not 100% obd2 compliant, the best system is the Peugeot dealer stuff, Peugeot planet or diagbox.

veryify the pump is actually priming. it may just be noisey and not giving enough fuel pressure and flow.

ive had a brand new fuel pump go bad after 2 weeks. low pressure and frothy fuel out the outlet.

remove the outlet from the pump and "prime" make sure a steady stream is exiting from the pump.

no bubbles or froth.

if good, verify this stream is of a simlar quality entering the fuel rail by removing the pipe into it.

have yourself a few rags to hand as you dont want fuel everywhere.

maybe a fire extinguisher Smile

note: i might need others to clarify....but if your seeing a consistant strong spark on every plug...your ecu is not locked/immobilized...

2nd note: i might need others to clarify....grab a mulitmeter and see if you injectors are getting voltage to them. if they are your ecu is not immobilized or locked.

Thanks I will try to check that more but I think fuel is priming right it was strong enough to leak from the pressure regulator in the fuel rail. So was charged for another fuel rail charged this year.

I forgot to say the light flashed whe using a injecter puse test, it may have been only one plug tested. I also don't know if it was pusing at the right speed but it was getting something there to get flashing testing, tested this year.

I have had a new earth lead made this year the one from battery to gearbox to inner wing. Old lead was close to gone by the gearbox connecter.

Car has had sit with no front bumper on for must be over 13 years now so things been more exposed, the screenwash bottle fell to bits years ago because on the sunlight weakening it. Also seens to be getting water in now front drivers feetwell was very wet and drivers rear feetwell had puddle. Not sure how/where it is entering as when I found this it had been dry for the last few days. I know there is a hole in the rain gully under the windscreen rubber seal. Hole being well some where over steering wheel, clocks and fuse box area. But when I looked hole I saw metal not inner roof lining so wasn't sure if the roof has an inner metal lining?

Thanks for your replies and any other help you give.
