urgh...

two days ago my engine cut out twice on the way home from work. yesturday it did it once.

today it had difficulty starting.....and cut out half way to work, refusing to start again. (its curently sat at the side of an A road)

its had new spark plugs, coil packs, map sensor, ICV, o2/lambda, TPS, fuel pump relay, fuel pump.

fuel pumps priming and engines cranking....so im thinking its an igniton issue.

maybe crank sensor? any other ideas?

towed the car home.... new/old cam sensor did f-all.

took the spark plugs out....every one is firing nice and strong.....but they were all dry. (no fuel)

i have fuel upto the rail (at pressure) so i figure the injectors are not firing/opening/being sent a signal. (should it be 12v?)

turning it over i might get one cough in every 20 or so cranks.

which makes me think intermittant break in the wiring that feeds the injectors. is there a common loom break point?

any ideas on what would stop the injectors firing?

well.....every injector is getting 12v so its maybe not the loom.

i have swapped the fuel pressure regulator for a spare i had, it wasnt that and there is defo fuel in the rail.

but it still doesnt start Sad

what are the odds every injector decided to block itself at the same time? :S

urgh..... went through the hassle of taking out injectors.....

they spray in an even misty pattern.

i have spark and i have fuel.....

im at a loss now.....

only thing i noticed was....the fuel pump primes...but its not running when i crank the car.

and almost immediately after i stop cranking it primes for a short while again.

is this normal?

well, a new crank position sensor didnt help either Sad

neither did cleaning the front earth points on the passengr side chassi leg. (does crank slightly faster now though)
