Has anyone replaced the door card material on a ‘97 car? Do I cut off the melted plastic plugs at the back and separate it all? If that’s the way to do it how do you refit it? Screws/ glue/ rivets?
Thanks for any advice.

I managed to get this finished over the 6th lockdown.
I melted the plugs on the back with a soldering iron while pulling the top half off the plugs.
Then I cleaned the old rotten foam off with paint thinners.
I bought some faux suede with a foam backing made for roof linings.
Then I sprayed both parts with roof lining adhesive and stuck the new stuff on from the top following all the curves etc and then sticking it to the back of the board. This is especially important near the pull handle.
The top metal trim needed the dimples flattened out before it would go back on.
I then cut some holes for it to fit back onto the lower half and clamped it. I splayed the plastic with the soldering iron and fitted one screw. I also added some glue over the plugs for a bit more strength.

I do have a few photos but I’m unsure how to upload them from my phone. I’ll have to work it out.
