Hi guys, I have been converting a PH1 DT to PH3 GTi6, I had replaced the whole front wiring from PH1 to PH3 (engine bay & under dash) Everything works fine except the wipers. Now I have 2 stalks one with the auto & one without & 2 wiper motors both tested. The problems are;

1. No self park
2. Only have 1 speed (the slow & the one hit one swipe)

Now I'm aware the the PH1 had a blue relay behind the fuse box & the PH3 doesn't have. & also I'm getting mixed suggestions on the NET. Can you help me out Please? I'm desperate to finish up this car.

As i said in my post, the wiring loom of the dash is PH3. Do you think the problem is persisting because of the missing rain sensor? & how can I find the wire of the sensor with in the loom it self? Thanks.

Phase 3 should also have the blue relay, if my memory is not failing me.

You cannot use an “auto” stalk when the sensor is missing.

I dont think so(still not sure) the only blue relay I had is at the rear motor wiper. I couldn't find any sockets that fit a blue relay behind the fusebox, but I did have one on the PH1 loom. I also switched between the stalks & still same results. loosing my mind on this problem, it's the only thing it keeping me back from putting this car together so I can enjoy it. Cry

It'll be the 2 purple relays next to the fuse board under the steering wheel.

Have a look in the FAQ section, under 'Electrical', for Phase 3 fuse box

Correction on my end. The wiring is PH2 according to the date on the fuse box, which make the wiring mentioned before a PH2.

I said a PH3 because the Halfcut I got the wiring from was a PH3 front end with rounded fog lamps. maybe somwhere along it life preuios owner changed it to PH3 bumper.

It all gets a bit confusing. P2 GTi's were the first model to wear the bumper with round fogs. All other P2's had the crappy bumper with the 'D' shaped fogs.

All P3 cars, regardless of model, ended up with the round fog bumper.

I think that's right but happy to be corrected.
