Hi guys just stripped 3rd gear on my high boost. Can anyone advise on what the best options to stop this happening again. I know there is an upgraded gear set for the 5 speed box but been +quoted £3.5k for the upgrade fitted and running. Would love to stay six speed but its probably not an option. Guessing the engine is around 330bhp. What about the ML 5 per box out of a 406. Really appreciate any advise. |

unless you are able to do all the fab work yourself then a dog kit from Maximotoraport is likely to be the cheapest strong gearset still in a be casing.going ml incolves subframe mods, custom driveshafts and fitting a cable shift assembly. diff for an ML is more expensive and harder to fins too. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

There are not any Peugeot gearboxes that will happily take the power. A conversion would set you back probably 2/3 of that quoted price. incl a custom flywheel and clutch, shafts, new lsd, and gear linkage change/clutch pedal cable/hydro conversion________________________________________ 208 GTI OwnerTurbo'd '6 project - work in progress |

I'd look at a box from something like a focus ST/RS, Megane RS, Honda boxes seem to be strong too basically something high power and FWD, and ideally readily available. Yes it'll cost you for a custom bellhousing but if you spend £3k on a proper conversion to something designed to take the power and torque it should last you ages. If you get a few people together too it'll dilute the cost nicely too. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |
