Afternoon all,Looking for recommendations for somewhere to refurb a set of Cyclones, preferably in the North of England. You see lots of prices from people who state they are the best thing since Kelly Brooke joined social media but never really know if they are any good or not, anyone got any suggestions? When you say 'refurb' are you meaning powder coating, or do they need more than that? When I got mine done last time I paid £160 for taking old tyres off and powder coating plus disposal of old tyres. I was very happy with quality of finish and appreciate prices will have gone up so I'd be expecting maybe £200 now. Shop around as all powder coating places are not equal. I've had some other bits done locally and wasn't too impressed with results.A mate of mine spray painted his 205 gti wheels using proper setup and the results were amazing, proving there are options beyond powder coating. I'd go for paint with a decent etch primer and paint rather than powder coat as in my experience powder coat sometimes does not adhere well if there is any kind of weak point, chip, scratch etc, especially if the car is driven in winter. I painted a set of Citroen C5 wheels done with Bilt Hamber Etchweld under Halford's Peugeot Iron Grey in 2013 and they are still looking really good despite the odd stone chip. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
