Yep there a lot of money (luckily I didn’t pay anywhere near that though)

Hope it’s as good as it’s made out to be 🤞

Few little updates, diffs back after having service and new plates fitted. Went to refit but found the crownwheel bolt threads had seen better days so put a stop to that plan. With no diff to fit I carried on with the installation of the gear lever. Again like the satchshift a bit of a pain to fit especially adding yet more holes in To fit the cables through, so got some tidying up to do on the tunnel now to fill up the old satchshift hole.

Levers in and after a lot of tweaking feels very good and super precise. Sure will need some more tweaking once running etc but will mark up cables etc before pulling back out and welding up the tunnel

Fantastic Update Mike ...
Yep always change the Bolts ...
I found they strip if you don’t loosen them each gradually ....

Welshpug told me years ago he’s never had a issue as long as you do that but I still stripped a couple Thumbs down

Nice one. Does this mean you have a satchshift to sell?

Wow haven't seen that car in years, it was mental quick, serious donkey in it, used to run rings around everything over here when it came out to play,

Also relocated the air intake for the airbox. Noticed after a few races with the air feed comming from the fog light hole with a 4” tube it’s been rubbing on the gearbox so not only spli the hose a little, is also getting pretty hot during a 20min race so not ideal.

So now much shorter and more direct, took some careful cutting of the grill but clears the bonnet and still in direct air

Stripped down the suspension ready for the next big addition - decided to concentrate on improving the suspension and generally how it drives rather than more power at this stage. Ordered a new top mount bearing as worn and stripped and cleaned the Coilovers along with some different springs ready for this when it’s made

Not many images to share but a bit going in with a few changes along the way. Started to fit the new lower suspension arms as pictured above, stripped cleaned and changed the springs on my bc coilovers which allthough all good and having served me well have decided to now to change to complete the front suspension upgrades with some new coilovers.

But as with everything the new coilovers will also require some modifying this time to the strut tops as they will use different top mounts which require plates to be welded in which in itself isn’t a drama... allthough I already have strengthening plates fitted so they’ve felt to come out so I can replace with the new when they arrive .. so out with the grinder

Also the kit comes with roll Center correction which includes some weld on track rod ends with rose joints. This highlighted that my original tie rods where a little on the “used” side so new tie rods fitted, and ends welded on

Brakes are also being adapted to fit the new hubs with the new hubs having different offset so will likely be new bells and rotors commissioned by satchell. So hopefully by end of it will have one pretty planted gti

Mike, does the subframe supplied have a ‘squashed’ depth like the maxi rally cars? I’m guessing not given the roll centre adaptors on the upright but thought I’d ask..

To my knowledge the frame is a modified standard unit, that is strengthened and adapted to fit the rose joints on the new arms etc

Thank you. It’s definitely been built to be used and abused 😀
hopefully the new additions will translate to improved lap times etc. This year was all about learning the car and learning some race craft, now just trying to perfect on what’s there already and make it further up the grid.

Hi Mike
Hope your well
Yes your 100% correct standard subframe that’s been welded and had strengthened supports fitted plus rose joint adaptor plates and no ARB as you know Thumbs up
