Hi,

Bought the 6 a few months ago and am now trying to sort out a few things. The previous owner removed the standard air intake and box, so I'm left with what seems like a dodgy set up: the air filter is down behind the radiator (very low) , which looks like it'll pick up water quite easily. The previous owner didn't even get a pipe to fit the filter properly.

What's the best thing to do here? I think getting a second hand complete air intake set up would be pretty difficult by now.

Should I try and get an enclosed system, and rig it up pretty much the same way? Or stick with a cone filter, but try and change the placement? (and get some piping that actually fits)

Cheers,

Al

That would be real useful. Does it have everything that's needed to fit it? I think the previous owner has got rid of all evidence that the standard air box was ever there so think I need all the fixings and such.

How much were you thinking?

Just fitted, thanks for that mate. Gave it a little derust and spray paint and it looks good.

When attaching the smaller pipe to the ICV (I think?), I spotted a undone connector and can't figure out where it goes, or if it should go anywhere.

Here's a pic.

Any idea what it is?

Also, found a tiny bit of oil in the pipe going into the intake. Think this could be a sign of a problem?

Cheers,

Alex

The connector is a spare one, I think it's for the older type MAP sensor which only has two pins.
The oil in the inlet is normal and comes from the crank ventilation.
