Hi all,

What's the best way of figuring out the spline count for a replacement CV joint? Probably a really stupid question, i know that the answer's going to be to just take the existing one off!

Also, once i've figured the above out, does anyone have any recommendations on the best CV joint to go for? Not taking the 6 onto the track, if that makes a difference?

Can't figure out what the part numbers are on service box?

  • https://spoox.co.uk/peugeot-205/6879-peugeot-205-19-gti-outer-cv.html - Spoox also has a 34 spline

  • Would it be worth ringing Peugeot up and getting one from them instead? How much are they from Peugeot?

    Thanks in advance,

    Al

The highlighted part is just the boot so you'll need a full shaft.

Thanks mate, so on these you can't just replace the wheel side of the driveshaft? Gotta do the entire thing?

Inputting the product number (3272 0F) into autodoc gets me this:

Would that be the right sort of thing then?

Peugeot don't list the outer joints separate however they are available in the aftermarket, the outer splines are the same into the hub on all 306's bar non abs 1.4 models, the inner splines may vary.

you'll find a joint with a boot kit for about £35 iirc.

Ah i get it, so it is possible to just replace the CV joint then. And not get a whole new driveshaft.

Would something like this be what i'm looking for?

    SKF CV kit
