So I've replaced my dead dampers with kyb ultra srs and reused the same springs. Now the ride height seems insane! Any ideas I thought stick the same springs on and the ride height should stay the same? Have I tightened something to stop it settling when I lowered it or something? ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

If memory serves this sort of thing happened on some bilsteins, and was to do with where the locking tab was positioned on the strut where it feeds into the hub. I could of course be talking gibberish. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

I think it's the Bilstein B4's (black oe replacements) where the locating tabs are welded a bit lower on the body which makes them ride higher. I've got them on my daily and it looks like a monster truck, not helped by the fact that i only run 50 profile tyres.I think the Bilstein B8's are the ones with the shorter rod length as they are intended for use with lowering springs so should give the same amount of damper travel. No idea with the kyb dampers though, maybe they took a Bilstein B4 as a sample for designing where to weld their locating tab? ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Comparing one shock to another they seem extremely similar... Is it just a case of getting some eibachs or something then? Really annoying... ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |
