Hi Guys, just rebuilding my engine, and whilst looking to see which rod bolts are better L19 or ARB 2000, and which ones are actually needed for 8500 rpm, i came across a post about forged con rod weights.

I originally opted for MAxspeeding ones and they seemed a good price, but im now wondering what the weight of conrods from PEC etc are??

Can anyone say if they have looked at this before, as this this could affect spin up speed. does anyone have any forged rods out of the car, and could you weigh them on a digital set of scales and post the results please.

Rod Make, Weight in Grams (g) with rod bolts included.

and while im looking at weights does anyone know how much lighter kent or cat cam aftermarket vernier pulleys are? Many Thanks

Maxspeeding Rods, 635g.
PEC RODS 567g for one still in sealed plastic bag included in weight. (Info courtesy of spoox motorsport.)

Saenz rods are what I use in my supercharged engine. They are supposed to be of a much higher build quality than PEC ones.

I am unsure of the weight, although rich_w on here will probably know. Thumbs up

Can you get the weight at all? And info why they are better? Just trying to build a good guide of rods overall.

Also does anyone KNOW? how much does 70 grams per rod affect spin up? Much or not at all?

The information I can find is that they weigh somewhere around 250grams each.

That's good, especially if they are stronger. Are they I beam or h beam?
