Armzs16 is your man. He is close enough and worth traveling for, based in Crowborough, East Sussex. We have a small group of 6’s that are regularly getting maintenance or modifications done there. Garage is called K + M Citroen ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

Thanks, I'll take a look. Also wondering if its worth having the cambelt/water pump changed. They was done in 2009 but it's only covered 28000 miles since? |

It's probably due, cambelt on the 6 should be done every 3 years or 30,000 whichever comes first. Water pump has to be changed at the same time. ________________________________________ '97 Platinum Silver GTI 6 |

I'd say get it done ASAP and don't drive it too much until you do. A GTI-6 cam belt is definitely on borrowed time after 9 years. Peugeot shortened the time/mileage change intervals after an epidemic of snapping cam belts. My car was one of these; it received a dealer engine rebuild due to belt snappage at 6 years old and 50K miles. I do my belt every 3 years, and I only do around 5-6K miles per annum. You don't have to do the water pump at the same time, but while it is all apart you might as well. I had an OE water pump leaking when I changed the belt last time, and it had only been in there since the last cam belt change. Stick to OE or quality parts by known brand names, don't use cheap pattern water pumps. The labour is a lot more than the pump. EDIT: Good info on K&M Citroen - that is not too far from me and I've been looking for someone to work on my car for a while. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
