Hi guys, a friend of a friend has an old Talbot Express camper (nowt to do with meLOL No) It's fitted with a XUD7TE engine, is it possible to fit the 6 speed box from the 6/Rallye to this engine? Its already got a 5 speed and goes very well with this engine but he'd like another gear for motorway 'cruising'.

cheers

no.

final drive and gear ratios are all wrong, angle of the engine is different, they don't use a BE box so the shafts wont fit.

best bet is bigger tyres, to my knowledge they didn't use an XUD7T so its likely it was an XUD9A originally, which had a 5.6 Final drive, there are other boxes that used a 5.16 but the casings are most likely different so you'd have to some dentistry.
