i've been away working on the bike and had a bit of bad luck....

hit a pothole and destroyed my near new top mount less than 2000miles old,
and by my mechanic, bent the strut on my Spax RSX.

trying to find Lemfoder top mounts at a cheap price or is this the price you have to pay?
Best i can find for both tops is $220 Aud, Ebay item number:401261114604 (links are still discouraged?)

i've been searching and searching but i cant seem to find anywhere to buy new spring tops???
I now have B8s with eibachs ready to go in, i just want new top mounts and spring tops.

how big was the pothole?!

very unusual for the spring pan to be damaged, top mounts in the UK are about £30 each.

impact was so harsh it disconected the fuel regulator thing next to the strut tower, cut the engine instantly.
spent a good hr or two trouble shooting the dead vehicle.

where to order from is the main thing i am after,

Euro car parts only has bearings for the top mounts which is my backup plan,
use OEM top mounts and spring tops with new bearings.

wtf.

looks like someone forgot the top cup (5033 77) as it should not be possible for that to happen.

that top mount is borked but the spring pan is fine, though wont fit your new springs as they are larger diameter.

a breaker would be the best bet for the spring pan, any 306 one will do, or xsara, berlingo, partner, probably xsara picasso as well.

even from a Dealer here the top mounting is about £63 (5038 62)

they didnt come with a top cup when i asked on here someone said dont worry about it. i was concerned about it at the time.

that lemfoder pair looks good!
the over priced(?) one i found.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-Strut-Top-Mount-Mounting-Kit-Front-306-1-1-1-4-1-6-1-8-1-9-2-0-CHOICE2-2/401261114604?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

we dont have dealers or breaks that have these so i have to import everything from the UK.
i do have the origional struts / springs mounts spring pan.

i do have a preference on new parts though.

evidently, you certainly do need the cup as this would not have happened with it present.

there's no reason to not use old parts especially down under, not like they will be rusty like UK parts!

I'm sure breakers would have the parts, they'll still be on the cars unless they bin the complete strut assemblies as soon as the cars come in!?
