Has anyone tried to wrap the cable with heat warp or similar to try to keep the heat away to make the grease last longer?

Thinking my clutch could do with changing, only so many times I can put WD40 on it...Has anyone tried to wrap the cable with heat warp or similar to try to keep the heat away to make the grease last longer? |

Ive never had a bother with mine. Is it clipped to the subframe??________________________________________ |
