While I'm sure it's been done, can't seem to find any info on it.

I have a spare Mi16 S2 engine along with spare gti ecu (unlocked), sensors, loom and manifolds.
are there any specific issues, pitfalls etc?

The RFY engine doesn't have a map sensor, its onboard the ECU taking a vac signal from the front of the intake plenum.

The RFS doest have the 12v output for the ACAV solenoid either.

The RFY coils are 3 wire externally driven by ignition amplifiers, RFS 2 wire coils dont fit and are directly driven from the ecu

otherwise afaik the rest of the sensors will work, crank and knock sensors TPS IAT etc work in the same way, also the cam sensor.

it may well work on an RFS inlet but I doubt the ecu will have an ideal map, also you'll have the faff of making the oil pipework fit around the different inlet.

With RFS manifold can be happen. There is big difference between the TBs.ACAV engine is with 3 wire idle valve,GTI6 is with stepper.I believe that the GTI6 runs fully sequential, but older one semi.

Had a quick look at it and it does seem like things will fit, even the loom is pretty close.
I'll have to have a closer look at the coils though.

did you get PP2k sorted?

I would use all RFS sensors, icv, loom and ecu. So it would be sequential.

definitely the gti injectors.

measured up the gti coils, if you cut the mounting tabs off and swap the boot then they fit quite well

Always the voice of reason Welsh LOL

Do you really think port flow is going to be that much different?

It'll need a remap regardless no doubt.
