Right then, I've been having a nightmare with my trackday GTi6, all new discs and pads just fitted all round, fluid changed, it was bled many many times, but the pedal kept going to the floor slowly.

Vacuum hose's from the servo all checked the jubilee clips checked for tightness.

I then changed the master cylinder for another one, no change.

I then cracked off the two pipes I could get on at the rear compensator as you could hear trapped air, the pedal went nice and solid, I thought great that's it sorted.......start the engine and the pedal goes to the floor...

When you search on here/google it all points towards the servo being at fault?

Has anyone changed one recently? It doesn't look like it'll come out easily? I hope the cylinder head doesn't need to come off? Or can it be extracted being undoing the top engine mount and moving the engine forward and right as much as possible?

Would that not be an MOT failure then though?

ECP and GSF don't seem to stock a new 23.8mm 2 port master cylinder, I'll have to keep hunting, or get a rebuild kit

Ignore the servo to begin with.... pump the pedal till hard (no servo assistance) then hold it down hard.... if it still sinks then slowly your fault is with the master cylinder or possibly the compensator leaking internally.

If the pedal stays rock hard and doesn't sink then the master should be ok and I'd try a new compensator / fit bias valve as said then swap the servo.

Tend to have issues with master cylinders over servos. Especially if they have been sat a while.

Also the servo is a bas**rd to change. Only a couple of hours but all awkward. Did one on Aaron6's Mrs 306 hdi a while ago.
