Hi guys,

I was wondering how many of you have working AC in your 306's?

I'm going to try and get it working in my '6. It looks like a previous owner has made modifications to the pipes by replacing with rubber hoses so hopefully it'll just need a condenser and a regas.

I've managed to get it working on my Dturbo, estate and my girlfriends 206.

I never tried to fix mine and get the feeling about 95+ percent tolerate it not working or tear it out. For the 1 month a year it was an issue I just put the window down lol.

In hindsight it probably would've been better to fix it with pirtek type hoses rather than the expensive oe pipes.

The OE ones are no longer available. Some new old stock sometimes pop up on eBay once in a blue moon.

Pirtek in Watford didn't want to know when the OS pipe broke on my Dturbo.

I should have printed of that post someone put up for them to work off as a guide.

It's useful all year, enabling faster de-misting, etc.

There was a group buy of Spanish made OE copies with no clamps many years ago. I got a set, lacquered them and fitted using rubber covered stainless steel P clips and it's just stopped working again. I'll get some dye put in and find the leak.

I've built up quite a collection of brand new spares including side skirts, a gearbox, condenser, and air-con pipes to name a few.

I re-gassed mine only to find that it leaks - it sounds as though it's coming from behind the dash, so I know it'll be A.) A sod to fix, and B.) Probably very expensive. I'll probably get the system removed and fit the aux belt system from a Rallye when my cambelt is due again.

Mine works a treat although the pump has a little leak so I will replace that. I repaired the pipe myself by digging out the hole and rrwelding

Would this be worth doing again?

Welshpug - Both the belts were done at the same time, so I don't see the point in swapping the Aux belt over whilst they're still fairly new. I'm used to not having AC in this, so whilst it would be a nice thing to have, it's not critical. Rather wind down the windows, enjoy the breeze and sound of the engine!
