Does anyone know if the cambelt needs the aux pulley to keep it on? My engine runs a pulley which sits further out from the crank cambelt pulley and the cambelt is edging its way off the pulley, and has chopped a hole in the cover. I'm getting a spacer made to go against the pulley to keep the belt on the pulley but just wondering if it should stay in place without one? I would've thought it should, all the pulleys besides the cam pulleys are brand new but wondering if one is bent or something? ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Yes, it requires the crank pulley to be in place otherwise this will happen Pete. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

If you look at the back of your crank pulley (if you still have it) you'll see the marks left by controlling the axial float of the belt. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |
